Trigonometry
Trigonometry is the one of the branches of mathematics which means the measurement of triangle.
Trigonometric Ratios:
- The side that is opposite to the right angle is called the Hypotenuse. This is the longest in a right triangle.
- The side that is opposite to the angle π³ is called the opposite side.
- The side that runs alongside the angle π³ and which is not the Hypotenuse is called the Adjacent side.
Example:
Let π³ be an acute angle of a right triangle. Then we have the following identities for the trigonometric ratios of Complementary angles,
Sin π³ = Cos ( 90⁰ - π³ )
Cos π³ = Sin ( 90⁰ - π³ )
tan π³ = cot ( 90⁰ - π³ )
cosec π³ = sec ( 90⁰ - π³ )
sec π³ = cosec ( 90⁰ - π³ )
cot π³ = tan ( 90⁰ - π³ )
Sin π³ = Cos ( 90⁰ - π³ )
Cos π³ = Sin ( 90⁰ - π³ )
tan π³ = cot ( 90⁰ - π³ )
cosec π³ = sec ( 90⁰ - π³ )
sec π³ = cosec ( 90⁰ - π³ )
cot π³ = tan ( 90⁰ - π³ )
